Tender Claws está desarrollando y publicando Stranger Things VR, en asociación con escritores de la serie que explorará la evolución de Vecna como villano y llegará a finales de 2023. While VR, for many, remains little more than a somewhat interactable rollercoaster ride/ghost train, it is a medium that perfectly suits franchises that focus on the strange, the bizarre, and the warped. Stranger Things VR llegará a finales de 2023 con uno de los estudios de desarrollo más innovadores de VR, creará el juego en colaboración con Netflix. In many ways, Stranger Things is custom designed for virtual reality, given its “no rules” approach to the simple act of physical existence. Stranger Things VR will see Vecna, (and by proxy, the player) invade multiple worlds, conjure up terrifying and vivid nightmares, and engage in reality-shattering psychological warfare. Hey everyone & welcome to my playthrough of 'Stranger Things: The VR Experience' for the PSVRI really hope you enjoy watching this video :-)Feel free to lik. This experience is available for free today on the Oculus store.Perhaps surprisingly, players will actually take up the role of Vecna - the antagonist of the show’s fourth season - as they attempt to wreak havoc and vengeance on both the town of Hawkins and, in particular, its powerful psychic savior, Eleven. This is an interactive experience with an original storyline, the latest DLC for Face Your Fears takes you to the sleepy town of Hawkins, Indiana, where you’ll encounter a series of spine-tingling events in the everyday world and its uncanny reflection, the Upside Down. ![]() It shows' that this company takes complaints serious, I am impressed! I went back to exchange my mask, and was helped by the Branch Manager Cassandra. Joe Williams, the Regional Vice President. Update: I was amazed at the fast response I got from Mr. It pains me to leave such a negative comment, but I am a paying customer and deserve better customer service. I wish there was a medical supply store closer to me, cause I don't even feel comfortable dealing with them now. So I just said O.K, and ended up with another sleepless night. She than went on saying, that if the next one isn't working, I will have to pay for the mask out of my own pocket. That way they would know for certain which mask to order for the future. I was told that there would not be an issue exchanging the mask, and to call a couple of days later to let them know if this mask was working for me or not. Also, she needed a reason why this mask was not working for me for the insurance. Why!? That was not what I was told. Dryden, she immediately told me that normally she tells her customers to give the mask at least a week. As a receptionist, just pass the call on to whoever it was directed to, and keep your negative comments to yourself. Who says that!? You get paid by the hour, I am sorry if I wasted your time with my explanation. After I was explaining why I was calling, she rudely said that there is no need to overexplain. I don't remember the phone receptionists name, but she wasn't very friendly. The fitting was last Thursday, April 22nd, and I gave the Tacoma Brach a call yesterday, April 27th. It's comfortable but doesn't stay sealed due to me tossing and turning at night. She didn't wanted to unnecessary charge my insurance, and then have to change it again. ![]() She also said that she would hold off right now ordering more masks for me until we knew for sure that this mask was the right fit for me. I would definitely give her customer service a five Star! I wasn't certain about the feel of the mask, so she suggested to give this Mask a try for a couple of days and if had any issue with it, to call and come back in and they would find something better suited for me. I wish I could remember her name, because she was awesome. Dryden assisted me with the mask fitting. Unfortunately, there was an emergency, and my appointment was rescheduled for the next day. So let me explain why I gave the Tacoma Branch a two star review. I work in retail, and know the importance of good reviews. ![]() ![]() ![]() This ensures that your food comes out perfectly cooked every time. The finale of Epcot Forever features “A Whole New World ” from Aladdin, which serves as a heart-warming preview (or terrifying portent, depending on your perspective) of the coming integration of character-driven intellectual properties across Epcot’s edutainment attractions. Classic 1980s tunes like “Tomorrow’s Child ” and “Veggie Veggie Fruit Fruit ” are heard in the park again for what might be the final time, sung in new arrangements that include a children’s choir. The University of Lethbridge (U of L) was founded in 1967 as a primarily undergraduate institution with a Liberal Education philosophy. But how do we know if students “get” these concepts? By linking threshold concepts to the Framework, we can analyze the content of student reflections to see what thresholds the students have trouble crossing. These six Frames form an interconnected set of skills critical for students to adopt before becoming truly information literate. These include Authority Is Constructed and Contextual Information Creation as a Process Information Has Value Research as Inquiry Scholarship as Conversation and Searching as Strategic Exploration. The Frames focus on core concepts of information literacy, which function as threshold concepts (as originally defined by Meyer and Land 2) and can be troublesome for most students to cross. ![]() When the Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL) replaced their earlier Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education with an updated Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education in 2015 1, librarians everywhere began to rework their information literacy classes to include these new ideas. Student reflections from three semesters’ worth of classes were analyzed for content related to each of the six Frames, as well as for areas of enlightened understanding (evidence of crossing a threshold into higher understanding, as first outlined by Meyer and Land, 2003) and continued confusion, with applicability for all instructors trying to incorporate the Frames. This article discusses how the librarian responsible for a series of four labs in a first-year course reformed the lab content around the six ACRL Frames. With the advent of the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education in 2015, librarians everywhere have tried to adapt their existing information literacy sessions to incorporate the revised concepts. ![]() Aha Moments and Continued Confusion: An Analysis of Threshold Concepts through Student Reflections in the ACRL Framework ![]() ![]() Only one iron works existed that could produce artillery weapons and armaments, and few manufacturing centers of guns and bullets. Moreover, the South in 1861 has limited facilities to produce the weapons of war. This pattern would have to be modified rapidly to stay in the war. The main role of the railroads before the war was to bring goods to port the opposite direction was rarely used for transporting heavy loads from the ports to the cities or countryside. This increased the cost of transporting goods, raising the prices on agricultural products and stressed the Southern economy. The blockade overburdened roads and the railroad system in the South, which were not designed to transport troops north-south where the troops needed to go but rather west-east towards the ocean. ![]() The only way to transport these goods to the consumer were by rail. Southern reliance on cotton sales and the absence of manufacturing centers in the region delineated why the prewar Southern economy was dependent on maritime trade. Food was purchased from Texas and Arkansas or the Midwestern states. The revenue from cotton sales were used to purchase finished products and goods. More specifically, southern economy was dependent on exporting cotton to Great Britain and to the Northeastern states, where clothes and other items were manufactured. ![]() Depiction of Civil War Naval blockade (Anaconda Plan) Before the war, the South relied on coastline ports to ship goods and products to other regions and countries. In addition, the South needed markets to sell its cotton and other cash crops. The South grew crops and raw materials, which were then sold to industrial centers and in return, manufactured goods were purchased. The antebellum economy of the South relied on bringing manufactured goods from the Northern states and trading raw agricultural products with foreign countries. By implementing the Anaconda Plan and blockading the southern ocean ports and the Mississippi River (Anaconda Plan), its military would slowly suffocate as supplies dwindled and the country became isolated from its trading partners. The two objectives of the Anaconda Plan were: 1) to prevent war material, manufactured goods, and luxury items from reaching the South to boost their war effort and morale at home and 2) to stop the exportation of raw cotton to foreign manufacturers, which would bring cash to the Confederate economy. Gunboats fighting for control of the Mississippi River along the Mississippi banks Scott expected that a land war would be a long, arduous undertaking despite the general opinion that it would be over in weeks. Scott devised a plan for a naval blockade of the ports of the Confederate Atlantic shoreline, an invasion and occupation down the Mississippi River, and the consequent strangulation of the South by combined Union land and naval forces (Anaconda Plan). Since the CSA trading partners were overseas and there were no land connections, it’s economy depended on open rivers and seas. He recognized that the seceded states depended on bringing military and consumer imports in, and trading cotton and agricultural exports out. Winfield Scott reasoned that the vulnerability of a southern nation was its absence of manufacturing, supplies, and weapons production in the region. ![]() Winfield Scott reasoned that the Anaconda plan and by depriving the South of foreign trade and the ability to import or manufacture weapons and military supplies, the war could be won with a minimum of battlefield casualties. The purpose of Scott’s plan was to devise an approach to prevent imports and exports, which would squeeze and strangle (like the snake) the Confederacy into submission using a naval blockade. General Winfield Scott’s Anaconda Plan was designed to defeat the Confederate States of America (CSA) through economic measures rather than a land war. The Anaconda Plan was the strategic plan proposed by General Winfield Scott early in the American Civil War. ![]() ![]() ![]() Managing this stamina, not sprinting into fights so you can fight back, can mean the difference between life and respawning at your last save. ![]() Dodge rolling, swinging the sword and sprinting are all tied to a stamina bar which decreases with each action and slowly refills when not in use. When enemies invariably get up close and personal with Kate (and they’ll do this often), she has a laser cutting sword to slice them down. These are controlled by a battery which limits use, but can be refilled with pick-ups. These do everything from giving you a shield of temporary invulnerability, to creating a gravity field which slows down anything that passes through it. There’s a plethora of hazards you can trigger to damage nearby enemies when they pass.Īs you progress through the game, you’ll also collect a variety of gadgets. Later in the game, you can use the fire module to break the ice beneath your enemy’s feet, plunging them into the water below. When it’s raining, the hostiles will take bonus damage when shot with electricity, or will freeze quicker when hit with an ice projectile. For example, if one of the aliens is standing in water, a bolt of electricity will spread out across the surface like an area of effect attack, damaging any nearby foes. What makes Scars Above stand out from the pack however is the way these weapons interact with the environment. It’s a given that these weapons effect enemies (more on those in a second) in different ways, dealing damage but also adding a shocking, freezing or burn effect. This enables new projectile types like fire and ice. As Kate explores more of the world, making discoveries and recovering equipment, she can craft new modules for the weapon. At the start of the game, it shoots bolts of electricity. Kate’s primary means of offense is the VERA, an engineering tool that she has rigged into a weapon a la Isaac Clarke. She’s a scientist, so the combat is a little more cerebral than your typical soulslike. Kate’s not a trained fighter or a hardened bad ass. Combat in this game is tough, but not insurmountably so. Kate Ward – PHD In Kicking AssĬontinuing the trend of putting the protagonist at the centre of the Scars Above experience, the combat in this game reflects the characteristics of who Kate Ward is. Occasionally though, it feels absurd to have her talking to herself when she’s struggling for survival, surrounded by things that may want to kill her. The game goes out of its way to explain this at times, like Kate is making a log of her journey. The only other note here is that Dr Ward can suffer from a severe case of Lara-Croft-Itis, where she talks to herself a little too often. If you’re paying attention, you’ll have worked out where the story is headed long before you actually reach the reveal. What I will say is that the narrative is mostly well paced, if a little predictable. I won’t go into the actual story any more deeply so as not to spoil it. These sections move you into a first person view so that you can closely examine objects and even scan them to see their inner workings. In between these cutscenes, Kate will often talk to herself to give context to the objective, and additional details are given via notes/narrative pick ups and during investigation sections. The story of Scars Above is primarily delivered through cut scenes, book ending chapters of the game. ![]() It doesn’t take long to find out that almost everything on the planet is hostile and there’s something very peculiar going on. When Kate regains consciousness, she finds herself alone on an unfamiliar alien world. As they approach and start to scan from their space craft, the structure suddenly activates, emitting a blinding light. She’s part of a small team called S.C.A.R.s that has been sent to investigate a giant structure that has entered into orbit above Earth. In the game you play as Dr Kate Ward, an inquisitive and capable scientist. This is achieved by placing the protagonist at the centre of the experience. ![]() |
